Kelly Kettle?

My Kelly kettle came yesterday and I experimented with it last night. Very easy to use. It boils water very quickly, about 5-6 minutes using just a little bit of dried grass and about 10-12 small twigs. I bought the whole kit, I even cooked an egg on it! I am planning on taking it to Haiti with me in a couple weeks as we will be going up in the mountains, and well, you never know. I bought the small stainless version, but I kind of wish I bought the next size up, the small one will only boil about two coffee cups of water. You also get a little bit of ashes in the water, but not a big deal. If you were getting this for camping, or hiking for one person, the small is fine, but if you are getting it for "just in case", I'd get the biggest that you had room to store it.

love it for long term one location camping - or bike touring. too big for backpacking - I use my "super cat" stove for that

question on the alcohol stoves, hopefully not derailing too much, will they work on Everclear?

Yes they will. They will work with any high percentage alchol I've found, including hand sanitizer, 91% rubbing alcohol and everclear

Tapatalk ate my spelling.

problem with rubbing alcohol is it (isopropyl) burns with a yellow/red sooty flame. use denatured alcohol (methanol) or everclear/moonshine (ethanol) for a clear blue not sooty flame.  :2cents:
