What do y'all use to keep deer in the area?Deer jam, deer cain?I put some of the deer Cain out around my salt licks last week, hadn't used it in a while.

I use corn or deer mix. This year I put out a mineral block and they love that thing. I will quit baiting at least 3 weeks before I start hunting.

Deer cane is a good product. Like Shaun says...remove it before hunting! At least by 10 days. Corn, salt licks all work good.

I understand not putting corn out a few weeks before the season, that's considered baiting. You can't remove the Deer Cain, because it soaks into the ground just like a salt lick.I never thought that was baiting. Is it?
Thanks

If it's not a "naturally occurring product via normal agricultural practices", it's baiting. Molasses is not natural occurring! Depends how your local warden interprets the law. Deercane will stay put for weeks in the ground and that's OK. A fresh puddle of "cane" might cause you some problems.
