I've got an ATI polymer lower that would pair nicely with that. If my wife doesn't like it, there's always duracoat.

Fine price even without the stock and grip.

I'll say again, if affordable ammo doesn't free up, AR stuff is gonna go for scrap metal prices at some point.

I'm seeing .223 all over the place but haven't been looking at pricing.

What do you consider the high end of affordable?

My absolute limit is .40/round for brass-cased 55 or 62 gr FMJ's. Subtract .10-.15/round for steel-cased.  Still absurd prices for that stupid little bullet.

In other words, what it's going for now if you are patient and shop around.

.30 a round for NATO spec brass cased, under a quarter for Russian steel.

Otherwise, I wind up thinking of how much I'm spending per mag rather than just having fun with reckless abandon.

And of course, even Garufa's higher ones are way far from being widely available.

I wish... BUT if you shop around and are quick enough there are some decent deals to be had

In the last few weeks I got a case of PMC X-Tac 62g (xm855) for $375.00, case of Federal XM193 for $400.00, and a Wolf Military Classic 62g for $250

Yeah, I admit I don't regularly work very hard to find it. But that's what I mean by "freeing up", getting it easily for around whatever the average best going rate it.

I also admit that .223 is indeed "widely available" compared to .22LR!

No kidding! The majority of my rifles are chambered in .22lr ... I don't wanna shoot what I have left ... I've been sitting on about 10 bricks since last November haha ... That's not a lot of ammo when I could easily go through a brick in one nice afternoon of shooting Edited by mcordell
