Only for a different purchase, looking at another Lever Gun (Why the heck did I start with Lever Guns, now Im in love with the damn things), so I am CONSIDERING selling. The one I am considering is a 42 Springfield, it is rack grade stock with a Service Grade Barrel (1+ and 3) and has a PB trigger housing. Gun is in real good shape.

Just out of curiosity, what would you all consider a fair price to ask? (And no, $25 is not a fair price, :x: )

Gunbroker:  $850, but shipping and transfer is a hassle.

Gunshow:  $750, but you have to put up with tire-kickers and poor-mouthers

Pawnshop:  $550, not top dollar

Among Friends on TGO: $650 - $725

Add $ if it's the correct 1942 barrel and add more if cartouched stock.

I've found some real gems in the Rack Grade racks at CMP...back when they had them.

Some rack grade stocks clean up REAL well.

All depends on the gun show and current direction the winds blowing. I agree with the above price assessment. But with the recent email (about a month ago) from CMP stating they were still over 3000 mail orders behind and were going to have to fill in mail orders first and see no Garands coming available in the near future, prices are up. Last show I went to in York Pa, rack grade Garands were going in the 1200 range, no way would I pay 1200 for a rack grade. Or sell one for that price for that matter. But then looking around, I notice even the prices of Mosins are up and they are steadily becoming available again. Prices went up, and stayed up. Only 10 months ago I got 2 for $115, almost everywhere I look now, $169 or so. If they keep going up, Ill keep the ones I have and shoot them, can only shoot one at a time anyway.
