Question on debt ceiling/budgets and wartime authority to approve

If we were to go into war with Syria, does potus have the authority to approve any item on the budget?  Such as the ACA.

 

Heard an interesting thought on the situation today on the talk shows, but I'm not sure how it works or if it is possible.  Guy was saying that if we go to war with Syria, potus has the authority to fund basically anything he wants.  The lash back from congress and threats to defund it coming up in the debt ceiling debacle, that (if possible) puts a lot of reasoning behind the statements being made about we have to have to have to, but it's just going to be a little bit and we've already told them how long it will be and with what kind of tactics.  Almost like they don't really want to cause any legit damage in the first place.

 

Anyone know about the funding thing in wartime with potus?

Just hoping and guessing here but I think Obama's feeling are going to get bruised somewhat when Congress tells him no and dumps his red line back in his lap which is what I am hoping and praying happens...........jmho

I'll try to keep this simple.

 

There's law, case law, the SCOTUS and the U.S. Constitution. Look at the trashing the U.S. Constitution has taken because of "law" and the SCOTUS interpretations and decisions.

 

Who has the authority and responsibility to coin money, and who now is in charge of that and shirked their responsibility?

 

According to the U.S. Constitution, the House of Representatives holds the purse strings and nothing gets funded without their approval. Look at where we are today with the executive branch passing more laws than Congress in the form of Executive Order, CFR'S, etc.  Congress has passed their Constitutional duties to the executive branch, plain and simple.

 

We are no longer three equal separate branches of government with checks and balances.

 

Edit: Now you got me on a rant! According to the U.S. Constitution, who has the authority to declare war and fund it? It now be the President of the United States, not Congress. We lost tens of thousands of our U.S military soldiers in undeclared wars called "police actions" or whatever. Korea, Vietnam and both Gulf wars seem to come to mind.

 

We don't be needing to shed one drop of American blood or one U.S. dollar for a Muslim country that would just as soon destroy the Satan empire, institute Sharia law here and abroad and live under Allah. Let the Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds kill each other and let their Allah sort them all out.  

 

We're not a world police force dedicated to keeping the world peace. Our sons and daughters are too precious for that.

 

Our military is and was to protect American soil and keep America safe from imitate global forces out to destroy our way of life.

We all know they skirt the boundaries of the law, but I was more curious if there is actually something on the books that allows potus to legitimately fund budget items solely based on if we were in a state of war.

Haven't you noticed, they've actually stopped counting the deficit spending a few weeks ago leading the uninformed to believe that we are no longer spending 145% of our revenues.  :wacko:

Yep, and since the deficit level has actually shrunk a bit over the last two years, the lefty pundits now rejoice that BHO has put us on the road to fiscal sustainability.

 

Of course, it's a temporary drop in the bucket, and doesn't slow the national debt by more than a millisecond, and I imagine if we throw the first firecracker into Syria, in one way or another he'll make up for that slight dip in a hurry.

Congress is just an obstacle to be gone around ( see executive amnesty for illegal invaders) until people start calling Obama on his crap. Too many are afraid to do this because of the race card being played.

 

If people are racist because we have a black ( half black) president they need to realize that said leader might just have added to the amount of people racist as his actions are more than enough to anger many people. I am not excusing it, but I do understand it.
