Flag football

Recommended Posts

Do any of you guys play flag football in the Nashville area? Some guys I play with are starting a new league that's almost half as much as NSL's registration fees at $275 per team. They have 5 and 7 man leagues, and will play on Saturday. The deadline to sign up is September 3rd which the evening of the 3rd will be a registration party at Bailey's in Antioch. I think they're having free beer and wings. THe website is www.mcasl.org.

Not dogging on you, but is there a particular reason it should cost almost $300 to get some guys together to play flag football?

I'm in the wrong business - I need to start me a rec. sports league!!!

That's what I was thinking. Back when I lived in Raleigh back in the 70s we had a city league TACKLE football team. I think the cost to sign up and play was around - let me think - nothing.

BTW, my team (naturally) won the city championship thanks to a great running back named Mars or something. I was up to about 145# by then. It hurt to get tackled at that weight so I did my damnedest to not get tackled. We were doing really well until I invited my Fort Bragg buddies up to play us. Hobbled around on crutches for a couple of weeks after that. :screwy:
