I am now convinced  the powers at be are idiots.  Who would actually sign off on something like this.  What is the reason behind it.  There is no way you can tell me there is even a cost saving if the bottom dollar is the only thing looked at.

Maybe one of our elected dummies will step in like the did when China tried to buy one of our largest pork producers about 2 months ago and the feds blocked the sale. Maybe they will step up and block the import of the chicken also. I mean they have to realize they also eat the same foods and so does their families.........JMHO

The only place where bird flu is common is where we are going to be getting our chicken from. This is not good. I can see a pandemic in the US because of this.

 

Once at walmart, was reading the fine print on a package of doggie chicken planks from china. It stated that the planks had been irradiated, which would presumably kill any bird flu viri. But dunno that I would put faith that all products had been so irradiated, or that the treatment is always 100 percent effective.

 

Old mom explained that the reason old-style southern cooking would over-cook food into vitamin-free (but tasty) paste, was that in the days before reliable refrigeration, it was the way to avoid food poisoning. So even today it might be a good practice to nuke hell out of most foods. :)
