Homeschooling has a lot of resources and information available. It's not just a bunch of religious nutjobs locking their kids in the basement.

The government is not fond of homeschooling, and I'm sure they will outlaw homeschooling in the near future. I think the jackboots made a raid on some homeschool just this past week somewhere. I saw the headline of story on Drudge Report.

The commie government has to indoctrinate all of the kids to make them good little comrades. Homeschooling is anathema to the commies, and considered as insurrectionist ideology.

You may be thinking of Germany.

Homeschooling is growing pretty well. Of course, that may mean the government turns its beady eyes on it sooner. It may be a while before they manage to do anything damaging to it though and your kids will be growing up in the meantime.

I know, if you send your kid to school with a snack like a chocolate cookie my childs school will not let them eat it. They told us is wasnt fair for other kids to to watch them eat it while they eat apples.

Homeschooling is the way to go. I got pulled out of public school after 5th grade and I am so glad. This is the kind of crap that kids get exposed to, what becomes normal to them, through the public school system... it's terrible.

It's happening mostly in states that have adopted the core curriculum where they allow fuzzy math (3x4=9 or 11) so long as student can explain how they came up with the answer. I believe 45 states have adopted the core curriculum.

I am more into the fuzzy spelling myself instead of fuzzy numbers.  :D

So political correctness says we have to be sensative to the needs of others, non-judgemental and inclusive. We can't speak negatively (lest we bully), be competitive (lest someone be left out) or correct bad behaviour because that's mean spirited. We need to all sing with one voice, see with one eye and think with one mind.

Unless you don't conform to the progressives vision of what they want you to be. Then you're too fat to be worthwhile and we'll make sure your family knows it.

I think that about sums it up.

They did but it was because the parents failed to notify the school that they were removing their children. Therefore it was considered truancy. A simple certified letter would have prevented it.
