Mayo is also good on peanut butter and banana sammiches.

you have kin from MS?

Central AL. When I was about 11 we lived in Illinois a couple years and it was a guaranteed gross-out of the yankee kids for me to bring a peanut butter and banana sammich to school. But they were so weird, school wanted me to get speech therapy cause I didn't talk right, but sounded just like everybody else from central AL. Yankees are so narrow-minded.

wtf is wrong with you people?

Butter, perserves, honey and syrup are the only condiments legal on biscuits.  :yum:

The gramma who lived on the farm would fix a big mess of cat head bisquits every morning and they would eat on em all three meals then either feed whatever leftovers to animals or save the dried-up ones for making bread pudding.

Gramps for lunch would mash up butter and sorgum syrup into the cathead bisquits. They were also great broken up in a glass with buttermilk poured over them.

You married a yankee huh?

Sure did. Always saw myself marrying a nice redneck girl; even had one picked out and everything. Turns out they ain't all that nice. There's something about the sweet innocence of a liberal Yankee that sees the world through rose colored glasses. Don't ever want her to lose that.

Well I ordered lunch from the oldest Krystal around.

Peanut Butter and onion sammiches are good.

I never understood why people eat grits.
Steel cut oats beat grits every time.

I remember Sambos...if we are thinking of the same chain then the one I was familiar with was in Waukegan Illinois - I was stationed at Great Lakes and there was a Sambos we went to often (mostly because I think it was open 24/7...had tiles on the wall depicting the story of little black Sambo turning the tiger into butter (I had and might still have the children's story book)...yuup...TOTALLY politically incorrect today!

The corporate planning meeting--

"Great News! We can acquire rights to Little Black Sambo for only five million dollars!"

"That's great! Even better than Stepin Fetchit, and Disney wants too much for Uncle Remus!"

Actually, wikipedia says--

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Story_of_Little_Black_Sambo

A popular U.S. restaurant chain of the 1960s and 1970s, Sambo's, borrowed characters from the book (including Sambo and the tigers) for promotional purposes, although the Sambo name was originally a combination of the founders' nicknames: Sam (Sam Battistone) and Bo (Newell Bohnett).[7] Nonetheless, the controversy about the book led to accusations of racism that contributed to the 1,117-restaurant[8] chain's demise in the early 1980s.[7] Images inspired by the book (now considered by some racially insensitive) were common interior decorations in the restaurants.[9] Though portions of the original chain were renamed No Place Like Sam's to try to forestall closure,[8] all but the original restaurants in Santa Barbara, California had closed by 1983.

An interesting read Lester. Particularly the bit about the one in Santa Barbra closing last was interesting. People say Ca is a totally libtard state which is only mostly true, Santa Barbra however is as blue as anywhere on this earth, interesting they were able to hold out so long.

No doubt if I gave my children's book of "Little Black Sambo" to my child I'd be brought up on charges of a hate crime. :shake:

Ya'll ever notice that when you start a thread and it gets a few responses how fast and far it goes off track? I started one about morons filming traffic stops, and the last time I checked it had moved to Census Tables of Motor Vehicle Accidents regarding alcohol-impaired driving crashes........Oh well that is a good topic in it's self

Sir, I absolutely truely apologize for the behavior of my fellow TGO'rs for their conduct on this thread. They just ain't right!

Funny you say that.  When I was in 2nd grade we lived in wyoming for almost a year or so and they had me in speech therapy for my r's.  Like you, I sounded like everyone else back home.

Didn't Wanda eventually let him bang her? I remember she was flipping out one season because of the emergency appendectomy he performed on her where he saw her lady parts, but she got over that.

I think so.  I actually remember that episode.  We were talking about it the next day in school and the old "teacher" nearly had a coronary.

Glad you found you a good one.  Both my sisters married yankees, and they're ok for the most part I reckon.  Except the way they eat on Holidays.  Took it a long time to train them on that.
