Recommended Posts

Mine is the beatiful tool called the Thermacell mosquito repeller. Best invention ever! It makes hunting, fishing, working in the shop, life better. Used to get ate up by mosquitos but no longer.

What tool or accy do you ow that is proven to work and you can't live without?

Wow, hard to narrow it down!  My list would be what has been mentioned above, but I will add my Nikon Monarch 5 Binoculars.  Those have been fantastic.

I use those same binos too, lol. Love 'em

Something else I don't leave the truck without... Fenix TK15 flashlight. 330 lumens of dark piercing illumination.

Ok, one more... Zippo lighter. Never know when you might need to make fire.

Peet boot dryer.

A boot dryer is essential equipment for anyone who spends time outdoors. I work outside, and that was some of the best money I ever spent.

My best thing for hunting? The goretex raingear I was issued and ended up with. It breaths decently and keeps you dry even in a down pour. I hate being wet and trying to hunt or walk out, so it always has a place in my gear.

Tapatalk ate my spelling.

My IPhone and Ballistic AE ballistics app.

It is something I use at least 3x a week. I use it when I am not shooting to see where I need to be with my loads. It is something I will never be without. My last 3 phone upgrades and phone companies have been based on whether I can use an IPhone because of that single app. I have used it to make first round hits on steel at 300 yards before using a 22lr shooting subsonic ammo.

And the IPhone itself is very useful. I can check weather data, use it as a flashlight as well as take pictures. I can use it to store reference materials as well. I use my IPhone like most peole use their computers.

Summit Goliath treestand.

It's more comfortable than my recliner, allowing me to sit unnoticed for hours on end, which has in turn put some pretty good deer in front of me that I wouldn't have seen had I been uncomfortable.

If its that comfortable, there may be more deer in front of me too, but I won't see them while I'm asleep haha. Its about time I upgraded stands, the Goliath is one I've been looking at.

I have a pretty dang comfortable stand too. I'll sit longer than i mean to sometimes. A comfortable stand is important. it keeps you still and out there. People give me a hard time about sleeping but dang it I like to nap in the woods. It's a good place to sleep.

Usually when I drift off a little is about the time I wake to the sound of deer heading my way. Maybe cause I'm sitting really still

Tough question there are so many items I own that enhance my outdoor experience.  If I had to pick one item I think that it would be Smartwool socks.  I got a pair for Christmas about 4 years ago and have worn them exclusively since.  When I run out of Smartwool and don't have any clean ones left and have to wear cotton socks I feel like a second class citizen, just about to the point that I'd rather put dirty Smartwool on my feet than clean cotton.  They are awesome socks.  Expensive but I still have 4+ year old socks in my rotation, they hold up very well.

For fishing it has to be a cast net.

I catch more fish on live minnows than any other bait and they are free.

If I run out all I have to do is find the nearest ripple, look for their sides glimmering in the sun, and I am right back into the fishing again.

AH GOOD TIMES GOOD TIMES :)
