UH OH.....KY Guns has XDS 9mm @ $499 and the .45 @ $476 in stock .... They have live inventory

This really pisses me off. They have time to build and ship new ones but I won't get mine back till Christmas.

Is this the same price they were selling for before. I traded for mine so I don't know what they sold for before but I thought it was in the $560 range.

Do you reckon this shop sent their XD-S inventory in for the recall, like we did and these are their returned guns for sale?

I got my XD-S back from Springfield yesterday. I had tagged it, packed it in some leftover carpet padding, and put it in a nondescript cardboard box for shipping instead of the original case. When I opened the box they had put my gun in a plastic handgun case for the return trip. So, I got the free magazine AND a free handgun case.

Otherwise, gun feels and operates exactly like it did before. The trigger feels the same as before, which is awesome news to me.

Now I just gotta hold out for Saturday to go put a few hundred rounds through it to ensure reliability. Hopefully that goes well, so I can start using it as my EDC again.

I hope that's the case. I guess I shouldn't assume. Still upset that when I sent it in they said 4-5 weeks now looks like 3 months.

I've never seen a recall handled like this before. I understand issuing a recall as soon as possible to mitigate liability...err, I mean keep us safe, but I've never heard of a product being recalled for "upgrades" before a fix was discovered. I guess I should be glad they took the complaints about not communicating with us serious. I noticed for the last few weeks they really have let loose with the update emails and texts. I suppose that means they are trying, at least.

If I found out these gun shops with XD-S for sale have newly mfg guns instead of recall upgrades, I'd make it my personal mission to bad-mouth SA every chance I got! That would be adding insult to injury, for sure. I hope that's not the case, though, because I'd feel like a total hypocrite since I LOVE the heck out of my lil XD-S and hope to switch back to it as my edc soon.

Well, remember, the US part of handling the recall is not the same as the factory part in Croatia AFAIK. Could be the factory was able to tool up for the fix quicker than the US service department was able to catch up on already sold backlog. Could be all the unsold ones they could get back were just swapped at a certain point rather than fixed, too.

Of course, I don't know the facts or logistics, just musing.

That's fair, I guess. I can see the Croatians on the XD-S line sitting around twiddling their thumbs waiting for the "fix" with 95% complete guns. Since they make the parts, I can see how they can get the finally assembly done quick enough to get guns back on the market faster than the U.S. plant can crank out upgrades. I wouldn't expect SA to ship our guns their, so they could help with the upgrades.

Good point, OS

Again, I have no way of knowing. But it seems almost certain that the Croats would have been involved immediately in the fix, and of course would have had to incorporate it into the manufacturing. It's logical they would have produced the parts for the fix too.

If my 45 didn't fit in my back pocket it would be for sale the minute the brown truck hits my door. Sending a free mag and or plastic case is a gesture of good faith but they should have tested the crap outta the XDS, the recall was a sign of complacency. If the pistol had been out for a few years I'd think different. Never thought I'd see crap like this from SA.,..

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 of course it ate my spelling.
