I've never sold a car in TN. Do I just need to sign the title over to them and maybe make out a bill of sale? Or do I need to use some kind of title transfer form?

As long as your name is the name listed on the front of the title as owner you only need to sign the back selling the vehicle to the person. It has your name, their name, address, mileage, and selling price. If two names are listed as the owner and it has "and" between them on the front both signatures are needed for the back as sellers. If it only says "or" between then one signature will work. Edited by Pain103

Hey, can you help me with a question I have about filling out the title? (See photo.) Is the seller supposed to sign their name on the big line right underneath that first paragraph that says "ASSIGNMENT OF TITLE", or is that big line just supposed to separate that paragraph from the information below? Also, do I have to really put the value of trade-in? I don't know what to put there. I don't know the blue book value....Thanks!

Doesn't really matter if you use the trade-value or the sale price blanks, they will both be taxed just the same. For convenience I would just have both titles state an estimated sale price (and you should estimate on the low end, and don't worry about being true to blue book value, just don't say you sold a lambo for $5) and ignore the trade value bit.

And only signature where it says signature is required. Nothing goes by that top red bracket, and I would not use that bottom red bracket, just go with the sales price and fill it in as if you bought each other's car.

I have sold a few cars over past few years and I would just sign the title under seller section and then give the buyer a written receipt for the amount I sold the vehicle for. Last one I sold had a bad motor in it so even though the buyer paid me a fair amount for it because he planned on restoring it I put a salvage amount of the receipt and noted the blown engine on the receipt saving him some sales tax when he did title it.
