Here is a link to a short article i found via drudge posted in National Review on line:

It seems that that great friend of democracy, peacemaker, and friend of all of mankind, Jessee Jackson, thinks the Tea Party is the "New Confederacy".  It's a short read.  The sentence above gives his sentiments.

Tea Party operatives:  I say "....keep up the good work...!"  When they call ya names, you are winnin.

The tea party, a new confederacy? Well, I dunno. That doesn't sound so bad to me.

They say the south has never forgotten, but I notice the libtard news readers often use the term "those former Confederate states".

I saw this great quote in one of the comments on the NRO Blog article that was posted by some wizened opiner.  Booker T. Washington knew first hand about the "Confederacy" and "Jim Crow".  That did not keep him from becoming a world renowned educator and visionary.   He died in 1915.  He wuz a very wise man:

"....There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs. There is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well .... ."   Booker T. Washington, 1911

These "race-problem solvers" are alive and well in governments,   "community activist" organizations, and black (...and some white...) churches.   You can rest assured some of them are near you.

You and I usually refer to them as Liberals. They have a solution to every problem. The ones that don't need fixing.

"Those former confederate states". Good way to put a spin on the Democrats who owned all the slaves and make it out

like all us suthenehs are the same as they. Some kind of phase shift happened down south that they missed.

The strength of the liberals is their power to name cal and position their opponents with the uninformed masses

The fact that rev JJ is making these statement is proof of the liberal FEAR of the great American awakening.

Calling people racist is just so yesterday. The charge has no teeth any longer

I kinda liked this article from the same page concerning racism. :D

He is absolutely one who I'll pay attention to. I think you already agree, Leroy. Just had to post it, anyway.

Thomas Sowell is an extraordinarily smart man. Not only is he studied but he sees past the numbers. Not only that, he is a true believer. True believers can't be tripped up because they are not trying to make you like them. Their only interest is spreading truth. In my not so humble opinion, he is right up there with Milton Friedman as some of the best minds of the 20th century.

After hearing JJ's comments I couldn't help but think of the song by Johnny Rebel - "The South Shall Rise Again".

I like Mr. Sowell as well, and often read him and others on the NRO  but I thiink he missed a big piece here.   With very few exceptions, every time a country has racial tensions on the rise, the same country is suffering an economic downturn.   A difficult economy leads to finger pointing and irrational blame of folks that are different who seem to be doing better.
