In the 1977 incident, according to a Dispatch account at the time, Dunlap said he fired his .38-caliber handgun into the air to create, in his words, “a scary effect,” while taking his daughter and her friends for a “haunted hayride.” He said he thought the gun was loaded with blanks.

I wonder if this guy ever uses snap caps.... lets hope not. biggrin.gif

Mistake, accident and accidentally are words that should not be used in this article.

You think he did it on purpose?

I believe "negligent" is the word TankerHC is hinting at.

All those words should be replaced with negligence.

Kinda like that cop in that other video in a school room full of kids,  who says "I am the only one in this room who is an expert and qualified...BANG! Right in the foot. (Or something like that).

I just knew this was going to be about Buford when I saw the title. Glad to know he showed up for post #8.

OS, that....is....AWESOME! I hadn't seen that one yet.

Most legendary negligent discharge ever recorded. Paige later tried to sue various factions over privacy violation and stuff. Right.

Is that Buford?

The one and only.

I suppose in retrospect the title should have told me it wasn't Buford. He'll probably get shot by a student instead of the other way around.

He just cuts to the chase and shoots himself.

I haven't seen him in 16 years, my wife and I went through his company for HCP class.  Thought by now he would have retired.  What a character he was....

I have seen that video a bunch of times, one thing I never caught, when he has the gun held up, slide back "This is an unloaded gun". hmmmm......they are the ones that kill....the unloaded ones.

Second best part "hey, bring that other gun out here!"

"It's unloaded, guys"

"Put it down, put it down!"
