About the same thing that I would about the defense attorney intimating that the mother of the baby shot in the stroller was in on the deal because she had taken out a $5K insurance policy at his birth.  Defense grasping at straws.

I'm sure that's what it is, but what I don't understand is how that could possibly help. So instead of them just being murderers, now they're crack users as well. Doesn't make any sense to me but then again, neither does the entire injustice system. If it wasn't so pathetic, it would be laughable.

What I am trying to say, albeit very unsuccessfully evidently, is the same thing that I am hearing in PRIVATE conversations with my Black associates re the fact that the media thrust forward the race baiters AS the leadership of the Black community.  Those with whom I have spoken are desirous of having their clergy/leaders (of course now we will have the chorus of religious haters join in and pile on) get out in front of the innuendo that the Black community as a whole supports that false narrative.

 

I am not as smart or worldly as you, and do not have the ranking of knowledge that you evidently possess.  But, I have real skin in this game, and am concerned about the PERCEPTION that the average Bubba has, and that is what I and my friends are concerned about.

It seems to me very simple; the color of your skin does not obligate you to take ownership or speak out against anyone or anything occurring with other members of your race.  If I woke up with black skin tomorrow it wouldn't change anything in regard to my opinion or how I express my opinion.  That is the way it should be.  Thinking otherwise is no different than people who blame all white folks for George Zimmerman shooting a black teenager.

The impression I get from WorriedMan's ideas, which may be woefully wrong-- Posit that you are tossing shots of tequila, 2 am sunday morning in Metamoros. The joint is packed and there are only about 4 gringos in the bar. Suddenly a crazy cowboy jumps up on a table and yells, "Remember the Alamo". One would not be concerned about "taking responsibility" for the crazy gringo. One would be concerned about trying to avoid the same butt-whooping that the crazy cowboy is gonna get.
