But every time he makes a jump its on a jump bike. And its nothing spectacular (Not like his dad), talking about Robbie Kneivel. He got busted last week DUI in his motor home and its almost like he's bragging about drinking and riding, after he smashed up 3 other peoples motor homes.

“I have an alcohol problem,” said Knievel. “I’m a cowboy. I’m not a redneck. But I love whiskey.” He went on to say, “I ride motorcycles and I friggin’ drink and ride –that’s my deal.”

I am sure those other motor home owners were happy that this "celebrity" smashed up their motorhomes.

5 or 6 years ago I watched some MX guys having a distance jumping contest. These guys were no older than 19 or 20. Had two ramps, nothing else. One would jump, then a couple of trucks would pull the ramps apart and the other would jump, and they kept doing that until one of them (Someone here who keeps up with this can correct me) I THINK one of them jumped the distance of almost 2 1/2 football fields. They were using the same type of jump bikes (Similar to MX bikes) that Knievel uses. Last time I watched him, it took him 2 hours to prep to jump 140 feet between two buildings with a catch net below. Yea, the buildings were high, but he had a catch net. Those young MXr's I saw jumping didnt have sh__ except two ramps, some pickup trucks and their bikes. They didnt sweat anything out either, pull the ramps, jump, pull the ramps, jump.

Think Ill write Robbie a letter, "Ride that Harley off the rim of the Grand Canyon, we waited on your dad to do so, as promised, for years. Live the Legend."

Evel use to be one of my early heroes but he sho' disappointed me with that canyon jump debacle. Glad Big Daddy Swamp Rat never let me down like that. These daze, I keep wishin' they'd put the dang unlimited hydroplane races back on TV. Miss Budweiser is my fave race vehicle of all time. There ain't nothin' like seein' that thing come at you at 200 mph on the water and make a turn in front of ya. The true definition of sh&ttin' and gettin'! I can see why she's killed 6 or 7 drivers over the years. I don't even know if they still have a racin' league, anymore.

Robbie Knievel faded when the freestyle scene got big. Distance jumping is cool, but now you have guys doing double backflips and other insane stuff over 60-80 ft gaps, so just straight line jumping doesn't seem all the hard core anymore. And unless he changed he is riding a CR500 AF two stroke from service honda with suspension setup for long distance, while most fmx guys are riding 250 two strokes with suspension made to to handle the pop and slam of the super steep ramps they use. Hes just a washed up old joke living in daddies lime light.

These guys would embarass robbie
