New ak furniture!

Ive had this furniture set layin around for months and finally got around to installing it on my converted saiga. Im really liking the front grip so far, feels very comfortable shouldered. I went from standard arsenal stock kit to this. Thoughts and opinions?

Im not sure 100% how i feel about it yet, im gonna take it shooting soon and see how i like it then. I may change it out back to the arsenal stuff. It feels alot more comfortable shouldered, but i cant decide if i like the looks yet.

I think the dong looks ... dong-ish, but I've never held one so maybe it feels nice. And yes, wood is good.

I'm with you. Saw that thing off, shape it with a file, sand, and refinish, and I love it.

The dong does help maintain when rapid firing

I think it looks good leave that dong if you like it. . . aesthetically speaking the lack of a cleaning rod is the only negative I see at all. . .good looking rifle

Why all the hate? How is it any different than a vertical foregrip on an AR (beside the obvious fact that it's wood)?

Thanks, i think i have a cleaning rod for it laying around somewhere, i dont think its ever even been there in the rifle. Need to dig it up cause it does look unusual without it there.

I cant wait to try it out. If it makes a big difference in control while normal and rapid firing then itll stay. Like i said, just shouldering the rifle now leads me to believe it will be more stable. For me its more about functionality than looks. The way a rifle looks DOES matter to me, but takes a backseat to form and function.

I could see how it could certainly help contain climb. . if you notice the ange of the front edge of the dong. . it seems to me wrapping your biscuit grabber around that dong and pulling it toward you would also pull down slightly on the front of the rifle resisting climb . .

No hate in this thread. The op asked for thoughts and opinions. That'll usually get you some.

 

It's great if you like it. I don't have a foregrip on my AR either. I can see why people find them useful, but the bad outweighs the good for me.

no hate was detected, i asked for thoughts and opinions. im not gonna build my rifle to other people's specs, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. i just wanted to know what other peoples opinions were on the furniture kit.
