A guy killed what he thought at first was a big coyote untill he saw how big it was. Turns out it was a gray wolf. The first documented gray wolf in Kentucky in over 100 years.

Just as I suspected before even reading the story he shot some ones former pet that they turned lose or that got lose.

Cool story. Don't they typically travel in packs? My guess is that if there is one, there are others.

 

This one was likely domesticated and released.  They make mention of the evidence on his teeth in the article.  Since it was probably transplanted, it's safe to say there aren't more of them.
