He won approval to keep a .22-caliber revolver at home after coming to police headquarters in July to be fingerprinted and take a firearms proficiency test.

It's pretty sad that the handgun permit wait time is less in Washington DC than it's in Tennessee, though...

Guess that's the difference between a permit to keep it in your house (not required in TN) and a permit to carry in public (still not allowed in DC)

It is pretty sad that one has to get a permit to keep a handgun at home. This is similar to NY and NYC for anyone to POSSESS a handgun in public or at home. Your carry license in NY is your license to possess.

I have read that DC is technically 'may issue' when it comes to carry permits. I wonder who out there has a DC carry permit besides retired DC police.
