Dynamic Research Technologies .45 ACP

Picked up a box of Dynamic Research Technologies 150 gr HP .45 ACP today at Academy Sports in Franklin.  The bullet is copper surrounding a frangible inner core.

 

Anyone know anything about this round?

Not the .45 but I believe in their 9's. Have a box of .79 gr. .223, also but have yet to shoot anything with those. The 9s are as accurate as any ammo I've put through a pistol and will blow a good sized watermelon up like someone put a big M80 in it. I mean melon EVERYWHERE. I did some of my own testin' by usin' some water soaked (3 days soak) Memphis phone books and assorted newspapers inside a water filled bag (not TOO much water), sittin' behind a piece of 3/8ths plywood with two layers of denim blue jeans in front of that and it went 3/4 the way through the bag sendin' shrapnel for a good 8-10" circle inside the bag of paper and water. Sometimes the jacket broke into 2 or 3 jagged pieces, other times, it turned into a jagged saw blade. It'll also shoot slam through a 4x4 and a 2x6 together @ 10 yds. So solid objects don't much stop it. It's the wet, soft stuff that'll make it do its thang. I didn't test accuracy past 15 yds, though. I also didn't get to test to see how glass would affect it.
