Apex Will be Getting in New Sten Parts Kits.

Just got word from Apex Gun Parts that they will be getting in more Sten parts kits as well as more individual pieces like the bolts.  Just a heads up to anyone who might be interested.

The Sten machineguns are fun to shoot!  The parts kits they were bringing into the country back in the early 90's were running about $125 and a receiver blank with the template glued to it, were running around $40.  I always though about putting one of those little kits back, with 10 mags and the uncut tube, for a SHTF item, but I never did.

Never built, bought a kit though at 2:00 A.M. though.  Going to be ordering the rest of the parts a bit later.  Couldn't pass up the MK III for 68 bucks and some change though.

Correct and correct.  I have been tempted to buy an AK parts kit, spent too much money recently on gun stuff though.

Have to keep some money in the account for things that are actually necessary.  I'm currently just trying to buy some parts to work on as I have the time and so I can get them before they dry up/price spikes.

I built a pistol out of a Mark lll kit and a carbine out of a Mark ll kit. The carbine , I bought the barrel , bolt ( semi only ) and reduced I.D. receiver from Indianappolis Ordinance. The pistol I made into a vertical feed with the original bolt modified and a denial bar added so an original bolt will not even fit in the receiver. I will try and get a picture up , I had a hard drive crash but found some pictures . I just have to remember how to post them.

Will do.  I'm hoping it will be in decent condition judging from the pictures.  For $68 I don't think you could go wrong though.

 

Build party Ramjo and anyone else? PPSH, KP 31, PPs 43, KP 44, Stens, CZ 26... We could do them all. Just a thought. It would be a curio build party!

I would probably just order one if I were you.  They seemed to be going pretty fast on another site.  I would even buy it from you if you bought it and then changed your mind.

Sten arrived!  Not great condition though. Oh well. It'll be gorgeous as possible when I'm done.

It's very rough.  Yes, it is rust.  Not a huge issue because I'm going to be glass bead blasting it and refinishing it and more than likely just cutting the mag well out and welding it on the new tube, or just buying to fabricating a new one.
