One of the few perks of getting older than dirt:

got my $11 Lifetime Geezer Basic Hunting and Fishing license (includes Trout).

That is all, whippersnappers.

Best decision I've made in a while was to buy the lifetime license for my son just before he turned 3. I think it was $200, but 2 years of sportsmans license would trump that cost. Congrats on getting into the elite club!

Does that come with a senior discount for the diapers you'll be needing while being away from a bathroom for more than 15 minutes? :P

Hey, great thing about fishing and hunting, plenty of room to let er rip.

now to get the boat up and sea worthy.

Yeah, it weighs on my mind ... need to her get down on the lake itself in permanent home to fix her, never did care much for hauling one for a one or two day trip.

Get old enough and use a large enough caliber, and you could find yourself crapping your pants every time you fire! Don't ask me how I know. . . .

How old do you have to be, pops? :)

Old enough to witness the signing of the Tennessee Constitution.

You can also get a lifetime permit if you become disabled or if you are a disabled vet. I forget the percentage for the vet but I qualify so it isn't 100%.

I really miss fishing. It was one of those things Sour Kraut and I really enjoyed. I will eventaully get a boat so we can fish again.

Can you pm me with the disabled info, my son is disabled and would be great if I didn't have to spend 136 a year just on the off chance he is able to shoot something.

Last I checked it was 30% by reason of war service. Not sure what it is now. I'll surely find out for y'all.

This time next year I'll have mine. I'd like to say I'm looking forward to it but, the years are flying by just too fast!

Yea, I'd trade it all, well everything except my kids & grandkids, to feel (just feel) 18 again *sigh* congrats on the geezer-perks though, ya earned them.

Thanks for the info - I'll be applying for my geezer permits next spring.  :D

I actually got it last month, happened to be in an Academy in 'Nooga when I thought of it on my actual birthday.

You may also buy a type 167 Senior Sportsman License to cover those locations that require special daily permits.  Unfortunately, it costs $41.00 a year.

Got one too. Problem is finding a place to hunt...a safe place to hunt. The hunting woods are not the same as when I was a youngster hunting with a single barrel, and five shells to my name... if I was lucky. I do appreciate my senior lifetime license though, and it's just great to be able to get into the woods with a gun.

That means I gotta survive 5 more flippin' years...

by that time they'll probably have banned hunting and fishing...or Obama will be in his 3rd term and we'll be the ones hunted. :ugh:

Im 100% DAV. You can hunt fish as low as 70% but you have to be rated UI and paid at the 100% rate.
