European Dashcam accidents - crazy stuff

Try driving in Afghanistan. There is a highway leading into and out of Kabul that is equal to a 8 lane. They are 4 two lane roads right next to each other with some curbs and some painted lines seperating them. It is a mad rush with cars going opposite directions in the same lane and weaving into and out of the other lanes of traffic. On top of this you have the motorcycles, pedestrians as well as the occassion cow cart. I seen some of the most amazing close calls over there.

Why in the world do Russians have so many dashcams?

A lurker friend of mine on this board lost a few weeks of his life watching Russion Dash Cam videos (I think he has moved into maritime disasters now).  He did some research on the very same question as your own.  It turns out there is a lot of corruption among law enforcement there, but also a lot of fraudulent traffic/personal injury lawsuits among the population.  A low-life will speed backwards into the car behind him, then claim he was rearended, whiplash, etc, etc.

I didn't watch this video (trying to stay clean myself), but there is a lot of crazy #### over there--MiGs flying down the highway under 100 ft, Helicopters buzzing drivers, etc.

I figured it was something along those lines.  I saw one last night where a guy ran out in front and fell over.  Driver stopped in time but got out and beat the crap out of the guy who tried that stunt.

It's easy to miss the very first accident but someone please tell me where that car came flying from.    Maybe that one scene was from a movie they just added for effect.   Some lucky people in some of these videos.

The car that came flying in is a graphic from an iPhone app called Action Movie.  You film somebody and then you can have them crushed by a car or smashed with a rock, etc.  It is a good stress reliever at work.  I have blown up several of my employees with a missle.  I chuckle every time I do it.

Dashcams aren't expensive. Honestly, they might be good insurance to have over here as well. I've thought about installing one.

I would be scared of some of the stuff we would see if they were as common here in the states.

Some of that crap straight up scared me though.

The motorcycle one hit home for me as I ride a motorcycle about everyday when I'm off. :stare:

notice the pedestrians in the video.  Many just seem to not notice or care.  Maybe getting hit by a car is an improvement.

That was an incredible video. Makes me appreciate the drivers I bitch about in Orlando.

The guy walking in front of the semi was clearly intentional. And nuts!

I saw some of that stuff first hand during my deployment.

The honestly do not care, they'll jump out in front of a bus if they need to get somewhere. And they'll just walk away from a car accident like it wasn't them driving.
