Wow. That is interesting!

yeah the oddity and the apparent rarity makes me think this may well be worth it .. but he's wanting my SR22 and my SD40VE for it .. so i dont wanna go just on my gut instinct and would really like to hear some opinions on value even if it's just a ballpark guesstimate lol .. btw it is a 10" barrel, stainless finish, adjustable sights, 8 shot revolver

Pretty cool.  I'd be a little concerned over availability of the moon clips.  8-round .30 carb clips aren't exactly common.

As a side note, I've always kinda wanted a Ruger Blackhawk in .30 carbine.  They are absurdly loud as I assume this Taurus is.  :D

I asked the pawnshop I visit to look this up on their online Bluebook. They told me it was manufactured one year only 2003-2004. In 98% condition it listed at $695. These figures were for a Raging 30 Hunter so take that info for what it is worth.

Imagine how loud a 2 inch snubby would be!!

Do you have a use for it, or is it trade bait for later?  I only ask because there aren't that many handgun hunters, and they likely all already have their S&Ws in .41 or .44 mag, while anybody wanting a .30 carbine pistol probably already has a TC Contender.  A man with brass ones might want to take that thing into a herd of wild pigs, but I'm having trouble imagining a niche for the pistol that isn't already filled.  It still gets major points for being unique, but sometimes unique means it didn't solve any problems, hence the discontinuation.

Crap, another .30 cal handgun.

Been keeping my eye open for a steal since I acquired my M1 carbine.

Used Ruger Blackhawks are pulling $800+ which is pricey for a plinker since I don't hunt

A quick search of "Taurus Raging Thirty for Sale" revealed auction prices of: $461 in 2006, $951 in 2010 and $675 (couldn't find a date)

Ammo will run you about $25 per 50 for fmj and $25 - $30 per 25 for Speer JSP

What?

I have passed on them in the last two years for $350. I see people on GB are ASKING that much but in reality I don't think they are selling for that.

.30 carbine Blackhawk... thats badass. The next one you pass on for $350, please send it my way! Or acquire it, and I shall then bestow a finders fee to you for said gun :)

G - I haven't seen any "in person" for sale, just the traditional on-line search of the big retailers/auctions.
