Found some at a local shop for 129 and thought that was a decent deal. Ill get a pic up soon. Anyways aside from removing the cosmoline is there anything else I need to do before taking it to the range? I'm new to this mosin thing so it maybe a stupid question.

Clear it up and go shoot it. There's a handful of typical problems that may arise, but they're usually pretty easy to diagnose and fix.

Watch Iraqveteran8888's youtube series on refinishing a mosin....  even if you don't actually refinish the wood, it's a very informative series on how to clean out the chamber and barrel to avoid the "sticky bolt syndrome" or any other problems that cosmoline might cause...   here's a link to the one I refinished around Christmas time using his techniques... it takes some time but I think it's worth the time/sweat you put into it! http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/55920-refinished-mosin-nagant/

Shoot it with the bayo attached. It was meant to be fired this way - and your sights will be on target this way - otherwise you'll be off the mark and need to adjust the front sight

To be totally honest I don't know enough about them tell you who made it. But I'm adding some pics, I know they are not the best.

I hope I don't get addicted. I have a tendency to spend more money on guns than I should. It does have a really nice stock and seem in great shape. Almost all of the ones this store had we're like this one.
