It's so true. Even the generalized (read:mostly conservative, not exclusively) population here is blinded to this fact sometimes. I personally support the Libertarian party, but I also recognize they need success at local and state levels before having a shot at federal offices up to and including President. I just think we need to get back to our roots - live by the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and other amendments to the Constitution, and remember the Declaration of Independence. Only then can we be what I believe to be a true American society. And those who think the government should meddle in our affairs should go to the USSR. Or Europe.

What ive been saying for years. Both parties have sold us to the highest bidder. Our jobs our freedoms everything is in jeopardy in the name of a fast buck or a swiss bank account. The leaders from both sides are just jockeying for their position in the new power structure. UNITY is the only thing that can save us and it is the one thing we can not acheive. LIBERTY should be the battle cry, not republican or democrat, conservative or liberal. Need a little more Thomas payne, and Jefferson than Bush and Clinton. WAKE UP U.S.A. SMELL THE COFFEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those chains give some folks quite a bit of comfort. A false sense of security and the mistaken belief that someone else is really responsible for everything.
