Met an older gentleman yesterday (Around 80) and his son. They were looking at a gun I had for sale. He tells me that he bought a stainless Henry and thought he was buying a 38 but got it home and realized he had a .22. Said it had a short stock, so I can only assume it is a Mares Leg. Asked me if I would consider a trade.

The only Mares Leg Henry's I know about are .357, 44 mag and .45LC. And the only one in stainless is the .357.

The only stainless regular stock levers on their website are all Tribute guns. Standard are Blue and the Golden boy and none of those are Mares Leg gunes. And the same with the Stainless Big Boy.

So did Henry ever make a Mares Leg in .22LR stainless?

I am thinking he may actually have his .38 (.357) and thinks he has a .22. The gun I am selling is only worth about 400, his, if it is the 357, would be worth about 900 (If it is what I think, .357 Stainless), so I wouldnt do it anyway.

But before I drive the 40 miles to look (And maybe let him know he does have his .38), I would like to know if anyone has seen a 22 mares leg in stainless.

Thanks

J
