High Standard Double Nine Convertible

I have had this for a while and I am not sure how desirable they are... it is a nickel model with a steel frame and I have both cylinders. I think it is a model w-106. They were produced between 71-73 best I can tell. Cool little revolver. It looks like a western single action but it does have a short stiff DA trigger also. It is a 9 shot revolver.

They are not very desirable at all, so why don't you come to west TN and I'll give you a couple of C notes so you can get rid of it. ;)

Sounds like you have a good one if it's a steel frame, some of the later models were pretty bad with potmetal construction. I had one of them. I t shot well, but was pretty weakly constructed.

I don't believe any High Standard Revolvers were ever constructed out of pot metal (zinc alloy also known as zamak). The earlier ones were made with aluminum frames and some of the later ones were made with steel frames. Here is a good article on Double Nines.

They are desirable, and I have seen some nice specimens bring prices in line with the prices for Ruger Single-Six revolvers. I have several High Standard Sentinel revolvers, but I do not have any Double Nines, so I am always on the lookout for one at a reasonable price.
