Funny is that the cosponsors are from Ca and IL, two states with stupid laws that have done nothing but fueled violence..

While we need to be mindful of these things I see no reason, at present, to thing this bill will even make it out of committee (or ever heard in a committee meeting). This sounds like a bill these 6 Democrats sponsored just so they could say they tried. ;)

I guess they forgot what caused their arses to be kicked the last time they tried all this stuff. There's quite a few Dems like their guns too believe it or not. Sheer arrogance.

I would not call failing by 5 votes in the Senate necessarily as "getting their asses kicked".

There were 54 yeas and 46 nays. Just about as close as the last two 5-4 decisions in SCOTUS on Heller and MacDonald.

True, it wouldn't have passed the House (right now) I don't guess even if it had in Senate, but shows how close the balance on all this is, and if I think anyone who doesn't think there won't be successful  anti-gun legislation passed in the future is dreaming.

I'd say were screwed come 2015. I have been stocking up on lower receivers so at least I can pass rifles on to my kids when they become of age that aren't Kommiefornian neutered models. That is assuming they don't just ban them outright.

Waxman does this about as much as Feinstein does it in the Senate. Waxman was a commie before it was fashionable. Now, I think it is expected.

If people are idiots and vote dems in or stay home just because they are mad like the idiots in missouri did with McCaskill this very well could become law. Both parties are screwed up but republicans are definitely the lesser of two evils. I hope the voters of arkansas and louisiana have pride in their nations and vote out the bums in there now.

PROGNOSIS

0% chance of getting past committee.
0% chance of being enacted.

Even that website says this has no chance of getting passed.  It's good to pay attention, but no point in getting riled up over it at this point.
