Silica gel packets

Anybody use silica gel packs in their stored ammo? I use ammo cans when possible, but even in the ammo cans I throw a pack in there for just in case.

Reason I ask, I work for a footwear company and I come across these on a regular basis, I can snag some and mail them to you guys if you would like? Just want to see if there is a demand before I start pillaging shoe boxes...

I threw several of those in my rifle case, until they broke unknown to me.  They got everywhere in the thing. I still shake it from time to time and they fall out.  Didn't really notice any noticeable change in humidity or whatever though.

If you're getting them out of footwear boxes that are arriving from some overseas manufacturing location, they're likely already used up.  That said, I keep a couple 1lb packets in my gun cabinet.  I get them from my employer and I know they're new.

In a normal size shoe box 3-5 grams of the pellets normally fully absorb in just a couple of months.

I just put a bunch of these in my amazon cart, along with some oxygen eaters.

I regenerate them on a cookie sheet at 250 degrees. Never read the web instructions. They were expensive the last time I bought them - $110/thousand for 3/4 gram packets.

Most of the ones that I get come out of sample boxes that have been shipped from overseas within the last week or so. They're still fairly new.

And as far as Mr ProGun's comment; well, we do work together, Sir! :)

I think that's about the instructions as I remember them. I bought a big bag of the granules at Hobby Lobby for $10 or so.
