2nd what most people here said. Definitely hearing protection and definitely bring a cooler. Look on their website for maximum dimensions of the cooler. Last time I was there the beers were big but they were $8.00 each! a mixed drink was either $9 or $12 Remember no glass....only cans or plastic. Since your watching a night race you dont have to worry about sunscreen. It would be easier to find a parking spot for the bimmer but if your real anal about it dont take it because the odds of someone bumping against it(with body, not vehicle) are pretty good.

Definitely don't drive a nice car to park in the grass field somewhere.... there are always stories about 'man somebody F#$&D my car up'. A bike is a great choice because there is a dedicated parking section for them. I'd drive a truck honestly because it'll be 2am before you get out of site from the track, plus you wont have to worry about clearance driving around in a field somewhere.

Bring cash... alcohol (no glass)... and a D.Driver. Police absolutely love DUIs after the race.

I live about 10 miles from BMS, so if you know the backroads to take its not bad traffic wise.... just don't be in a hurry after to get home.

Most 'decent' tickets go for ~$200+, with nosebleed section ~$100/$125.

All the info you'll need is on that site. Great messageboard for nascar racing. We went to bristol in the spring and I would love to go to the night race but tickets are hard to get. We found out alot of good info using the site above. I would recommend renting a scanner cause without it you won't know what is going on.

I live about three miles from the track. Last time I went was in the 60s.

First thing is that you have to take me to lunch or supper. Second thing is to take your own beverages. Third thing is to make sure you have plenty of gasoline in the tank to get out of there. It takes a while - which explains why I haven't been there for a race since the 1960s.

Take something soft to sit on. Your a$$ will thank you. We didn't know to and had to make a trip to Wally world to get a thick childs sleeping pad to share. I also bought a little walkman with earphones and wore one walkman earphone in one ear and the race scanner earphone in the other ear with my earmuffs over the top of coarse. It was cool hearing the race on the radio and seeing it in person at the same time.

Here's another question:

What about RVs?

Do people drive their RVs/Trailers up for this?

Im thinking we could bring the ToyBox up with the Harley in the back, park the RV, ride to the event, and then have a close ride to our bed at the end of the race.

Dude, people perform engineering feats with their RVs at Nascar. I'm talking mostly about the folks who live in the infield the whole week. It doesn't sound like you'll be going that early, and I don't know if they have infield spots avail. the day of. But yes, RVs and Nascar go together like...like...like rebel flags and Nascar.

doubtful anyone is camping in the infield at Bristol

Yep, people come to Bristol a week ahead just to party. No RVs in the infield here. There is hardly room for the race equipment.
