I use a kydex as my primary ccw holster but have leather ones also,

have found the kydex to be faster to draw from. jmo.

I don't worry about scratching the finish up, after all the scracthes just add character to the pistol....oh, forgot they're GLOCKS

I do have one pistol which I won't put in a kydex; S&W Model 39-2 never been fired, except by factory I have a leather holster for it......;)

So which do you have kydex or leather as your primary ccw holster?

The only problem I have with kydex is that its noisey, the retention holsters click alot , plus they don't mold well. they're great OWB for duty or open carry but not for IWB. IMO

Although two of the most popular IWB holsters sold, maybe THE most popular numbers wise, are the MTAC and Crossbreed, which are both leather AND Kydex.

Leather Galco OWB for my 45 and I have to admit that I have a clipdraw on my S&W 38 and on my SA 1911A1

I'm a plastic guy, I prefer mine either Comp-Tac or Raven Concealment Systems. I've tried leather (Don Hume, Galco, Mitch Rosen, Safariland) but Kydex feels, draws, and carries the best (for me).

I've always been partial to leather. Galco, especially. Yes, it does take a while to get the leather to conform to your gun for an easy draw. It also doesn't make as much noise or scratch the finish like Kydex.

This is not to say I haven't considered it for some of my lesser guns...if anything just to have a holster for the thing. After all they do do their job.

hi,

i have both for several of my guns, but for 'carry' i prefer the flexability and softness of LEATHER. -- i'm gradually geting rid of the 'kydex'.

thanks,

bob
