I have actually treated someone that was being eaten by their pet when they fell out in the floor for a couple days due to diabetic coma. I never would have believed it had I not seen the patient and verified the story with EMS. As far as this exact story, I have no idea if it's true or fake

I dont think this is all that rare of an event. I believe I have read more than a few articles like this over the years (Not testicles, other body parts, feet and legs). No time to google it, but would bet you will find more in the past.
