Anyone know of a shop that has a good selection of 1911 parts and supplies in or around Nashville? I'd like to check out some gips, Guide rods, mag wells etc. I know I can order on line but would really like to see some in person, especially the grips.

Have you checked with Hero Gear or Gun & Leather? I wasn’t looking for 1911 stuff when I was in there but I know Joe had a bunch of 1911’s in Hero Gear; so did Guns & Leather.

Not sure what kind of grips you are looking for, but wooden grips for the 1911, there is no one better in my opinion then this lady http://www.esmeralda.cc/ they are the finest wood grips I have ever seen, I have bought 3 pair and couldnt be happier ;)

+1

Esmeralda makes very nice exotic grips. :)

Wickedgrips are another excellent choice if you're wanting something custom, and out of the norm. Pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for.

The Reloading Bench has a limited selection of Masen parts. These are israeli MIM if I remember correctly.

Other than that you are out of luck in Nashville.

try the complete gun shop in gallatin. It's not that complete, but the gun smith loves to work on 45s. He was showing me some he had built yesterday. It's beside and in ashberrens pawn shop, before you get to the sqare.

Thanks all. I kind of figured there weren't any places that had a real good selection of parts. For Grips, I think I like these VZ Aliens:

Anyone have any experience with them? I'm also looking to possibly getting a Mag Well for my S&W 1911 (108285).

VZ,

Not the Aliens but my GRP has the Gatorback VZ grips, I absolutely love them and will never change them out, I am sure that they are the same high quality, VZ makes some outstanding grips, great on carry 1911's :)
