Petition against funding obamacare

My grandson works for Walmart and he said Walmart is doing some major maneuvering to get around the Obama care program. He is full time right now at 40 hours but his hours will be getting cut back to 29 hours just before the junk kicks in so he went and lined up another part time job to fill the gap at some fast food outlet. I wonder what they are going to do about all the management when it kicks in.

It's not just walmart, it will be the majority of businesses in the entire country and the pols don't care because they are going to run around and cry form th emountain tops about how many new jobs have been created, because the full time jobs have all been split into 2 part-time.  Then people will need 2 part time jobs and will get no benefits, so they will then have to pay for this out of their own pocket.

This thing has the potential to literally wreck the country.

Here are the ten most important points that I tell my patients:

  1. Your private insurance premiums will cost more and more each year.
  2. You will lose the choices and flexibility in health insurance policies that we have had available up until now.
  3. As reimbursements continue to drop, fewer and fewer doctors will take Medicare (for those 65 and older) or Medicaid (people younger than 65).
  4. Fewer doctors accepting Medicare and Medicaid causes an increase in wait times for appointments and a decrease in the numbers and types of specialists available on these plans. Consumers would be wise to line up their doctors now.
  5. Studies from various organizations and states have consistently shown thatMedicaid recipients have longer waits for medical care, fewer options for specialists, poorer medical outcomes, and die sooner after surgeries than people with no health insurance at all. Yet an increasing number of Americans will be forced into this second-class medical care.
  6. As more people enter the taxpayer-funded plans (Medicare and Medicaid) instead of paying for private insurance, the costs to provide this increased medical care and medications will escalate, leading to higher taxes.
  7. With no eligibility verifications in place, millions of people who are in the US illegally will be able to access taxpayer-funded medical services, making longer lines, longer wait times, and less money available for medical care for American citizens… unless taxes are increased even more.
  8. Higher expenditures to provide medical services lead to rationing of medical care and treatment options to reduce costs. This is the mandated function of the Independent Payment Advisory Board: to cut costs by deciding which types of medical services to allow… or disallow.
  9. Under current regulations, if medical care is denied by Medicare, then a patient is not allowed to pay cash to a Medicare-contracted physician or hospital or other health professional. Patients who need medical care that is denied under Medicare or Medicaid will find themselves having to either: 1) look for an independent physician or hospital (quite rare these days); or 2) go outside the USA for treatment.
  10. Expect a loss of medical privacy. Beginning in 2014, if you participate in government health insurance, your health records will be sent to a centralized federal database, with or without your consent.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to research some more.

DaveS, the only thing that matters, regardless of that list, is that it can't succeed without confiscating every

dollar in this country, because they will, or have already run out of money before they started. All it takes to

show for it is to watch the companies who are reducing their workforce's hours to not have to pay for it. Who

gets stuck with the bill then? You and I, and the individual who had his work hours reduced, and the company

get a tax fine placed on him.

It used to be that the individual had the opportunity to make choices for himself. No choices to make with this

mess, just the level of misery for all. And all it had to do with "fairness" instead of opportunity and freedom.

Sure, it will benefit some, but it will hurt many others because of the Robin Hood mentality, which is bogus,

anyway.

Do you give up your freedom to choose so you can benefit from someone else's dollar? Sure, just like welfare.

It is a criminal scheme to, in the end, benefit no one, except the ones in charge.

Signed it.  Over 1.3 million now.

It won't do any good.

Take care of the problem (Congress) at the next election, and all succeeding elections.

Should go over 1.5 million pretty soon since the heat is getting turned up.  :usa:

I sure hope the republicans will stand their ground and fight for this one and more importantly defend their positions when on camera. There's plenty of polls showing discouragement, plenty of examples of how it has already killed jobs and plenty of expanded costs related to it.

All the pundits and RINOs in DC who think and say "let it fail on its own" Don't seem to see all the damage letting it go forward will do. If it goes forward, it will kill not only the health care and
insurance industry, but also every other business
it touches. Plus, all the waste in setting up the
entire system costs us, not them.

I think they just like spending our money. If there
ever is a revolt in this country, it should be over
the IRS, the worlds largest collection agency.

Heard tonight. Tax write offs for out of pocket health care costs are over. All out of pocket expenses under Obamacare are now pretax costs, meaning that anytime you pay out of pocket for health care is now taxed prior to spending, can no longer be claimed as an out of pocket expense and is taxed at a higher rate than the standard tax. Someone may want to look that one up. I can't at the moment. If true it sounds like a significant increase on what is already becoming a major increase across the board.

Mark Levin.

Provide a source, please.

Mark Levin.

Here you go. A quick search brought up about 10,000 hits. Figure I will use the most vulnerable,. Special Needs Children.

Aside from the benefits to employees that FSAs provide, they offer a great deal of assistance for employers who are trying to help their employees manage the rising costs of healthcare.  FSAs provide a pretax benefit for both employers and employees.

Why is the government taking away this useful tool to make your healthcare more affordable?  The answer is simple-- the government needs more of your money.  By capping FSA contributions (previously uncapped) at $2,500, the government will bring in an additional $13 billion according to Grace-Marie Turner of the Galen Institute

Additionally, Obamacare will further burden taxpayers by changing the amount that individuals can claim as itemized deductions for medical expenses.  Instead of individuals being able to claim medical expenses above and beyond the previous 7.5% of adjusted gross income (AGI), Obamacare raises said threshold to above and beyond 10% of one’s AGI. I think this may relate, from IRS site. The change seems to be that all out of pocket medical expenses were deductible in the past, if you wanted to use them as part of getting more than the standard deduction, now seems only those over 10% of adjusted gross income are.

Not sure if this is exact same as topic as Tanker is mentioning, but probably is, in which case Levine seems at least partially correct.

"2013 changes to itemized deduction for medical expenses

The rules are changing if you plan to itemize medical deductions on your 2013 federal tax return that you will file in 2014. It does not affect income tax returns for the 2012 taxable year filed in 2013.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2013, you can claim deductions for medical expenses not covered by your health insurance that exceed 10 percent of your adjusted gross income. This change affects your 2013 tax return that you will file in 2014.

There is a temporary exemption from Jan. 1, 2013 to Dec. 31, 2016 for individuals age 65 and older and their spouses. If you or your spouses are 65 years or older or turned 65 during the tax year you are allowed to deduct unreimbursed medical care expenses that exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. The threshold remains at 7.5% of AGI for those taxpayers until Dec. 31, 2016.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2017, all taxpayers may deduct only the amount of the total un reimbursed allowable medical care expenses for the year that exceeds 10% of your adjusted gross income."

2012 Income tax means nothing when your talking about the next 40 years (by then the entire country should be programmed to accept servitude), 65 and above for 4 years should quiet those complaining. But since they have such a large voice through AARP, who stands to make a billion dollars off of Obamacare and supports, financially, Democrats, I am not surprised one bit. Read the entire thing, it also limits deductions to zero on certain earners (the 1%? That number dropped from $250,000 to $94,000) depending on how many kids you have. As for the 65 and up who get a 4 year break, where does that leave those who are 0-64?

That's ultimately the worst thing about the tax codes and IRS. They are used to punish, reward, and enforce political ideology. And of course can be changed at any time, and are.

Main reason the pols will never enact either a flat tax or god forbid, the Fair Tax, because it is anonymous. They couldn't even get demographic data, let alone use that data to tweak it for political gain at the polls or tit for tat for political contributions from those who get big breaks, if not outright under the table graft.
