Ill Sherrif to sieze guns from 3000 owners whos FOID cards revoked

"Sheriff Tom Dart said he thinks many of the 3,000 continue to possess firearms.

He doesnt know, he just "thinks" they may still have guns so he and his deputies will be going to visit 3000 homes. FOID cards revoked. So having ONCE had a FOID card, puts you in a position that the Sheriff can pay you a visit on a whim, because he THINKS you might have a gun.

 

Wonder if these people realize that now having once having had a FOID card they are on the Chicago Governments permanent sh__ list? Wonder when they will start disarming the criminals.

 

Why would ANYBODY want to live in that sh__ place?

Its the law that needs to be changed.  Sheriff is just doing his duty and isn't doing anything nefarious or illegal. It sucks but if the idiots in IL allowed laws like this to be passed then they need to live with it.

The rest of the nation needs to look at Illinois how a communist state puts chains of slavery on its citizens, and it's just in the infancy stage of communism.

We all need to think about this a bit.  The folks in that county voted for this.  I say let em have it, if they like it.  You simply cant help people that wont be helped.  Those who dont like this kind of stuff will soon move out to another location.  It simply excapes me as to why the populace would put up with this sort of thing; but that's just me. 

 

The big question i have is how do you square this with the Fifth Amendment?  Ya are taking stuff (....presumably...) without fair compensation.

Maybe they will take somethin from a "fortunate son" and we'll start up the federal court chain again.

Gotta throw the BS flag on that play. Every immoral, inhumane act committed by governments against their own citizens has almost always been perfectly legal in the countries in which they occurred. No genocide was ever against the laws of the government committing it. When those who commit violence against the people are the ones who make the laws, there is but one solution left to the victims of that violence. "I was just doing my job" sounds an awfully lot like "I was just following orders" to me. Neither excuse flies. When in the process of "just following orders" someone violates the natural rights and commits violence against the people whose rights they are sworn to protect, then they have just forfeited their right to breathe. If someone kills them when they are either in the process of, or due to their involvement in the commission of said intolerable acts then that death is morally just and correct.

The article clearly claims that 10-20 residents have their FOID cards revoked in cook county each week. At 20(the high end) per week that's only 1040 per year. They don't specify where the 3k number thrown out came from but I would guess that it's either several years worth of backlog that they must have let creep up, or it's the count of FOID revoke-es that they have already visited in prior years.(several years from the looks of it)
