Are these old rifles getting harder to find? I used to see them fairly frequently - trying to decide between another Garand or a 1903. I'm not that old just appreciate the old technology.:screwy:

If anybody knows of a decent one let me know!

Original 03A3's are getting harder to find at affordable prices. I haven't seen one in any of the gun shops near me for a while. I did see an 03' recently, but it was a dog and the price was way to high.

The CMP, as you probably know, has some available. While not a bargain, they are original and have been inspected. Try golsn.com as a potential source. I saw one on there a couple of months ago. Good luck in your search.

The CMP does not have any and don't expect to get any more for sale till jan of 09.. nor do they have any idea the condition that they will be in.. therefore they are not generating a waiting list for these rifles either.. one will just have to wait till Jan 09 and see what they are going to be like. I will have to say that the "Lend Lease" Garand's that were returned from Itialy were really nice.. while at Camp Perry, I was able to inspect several of these.. Service grade.. some were as new, with the original barrel from '55 and '54.

I say one today down in Dalton GA. It was at Jacks Pawn Shop on Main street. Looks Great and appeared in pretty good shape. Price was 695.00.

I've always wanted one but, really don't need it....

Going to be in Chattanooga early in the week, might try to run down there and take a look.

Thanks

CMP has a forum with a sale section. Throw a WTB ad on there and see what happens.
