I've been a Mongoose fan 4 decades, (since my BMX days) they are extremely well made bicycles, darn near indestructable.

I had a Mongoose as a kid. Springer front end, 5 (or 3, cant remember) speed shifter with big shifting handle right on the center bar.

I have the Walmart Denali road bike. 630 miles on it with no issues. My rule is always go cheap to start a new hobby cause you might not like cycling.

Thats what I was thinking, and I am buying today. The member here who posted about losing all that weight riding, has me motivated. Which Denali did you get?

I've been riding a 29" Mongoose mountain bike for the last 5 years or so, can't recall the model but it's big & indestructable, smooth shifting & easy riding, takes the trails like a BOSS man, has some pretty sweet high-end components on it, like grip shifters, dual-disk brakes, etc, I haven't needed to change anything except for the hard-plastic stock seat.

Because of my spinal injuries I needed to swap out the seat for a soft foam gel "tractor style" seat, which makes it possible to ride it all day without being in agony, even on the rougher off-road trails it doesn't hurt me.

Here is a photo of it ..
