Tragic loss in the shooting community

Russell Lee, past VP and past IDPA Chairman at Gallatin Gun Club passed away Saturday after a long battle with Cancer. He was one of the good guys.

I had the pleasure of meeting and shooting with Russell once or twice. I'm sorry for the loss and my condolences to his family and friends.

Together, Russell Lee, Scott Craig, and I ran some of the early IDPA matches at GGC back in the late 90s. 

 

Russell was in the group of the first 25 SOIs in the sport.  He signed off my SO card in 2001 and I still have it on my range bag.

 

He was the first guy I ever saw with a Kydex holster.

 

He was the first guy I ever saw shooting in 5.11 Pants.

 

And you are right Robert....., I'm sure Russell is now busting all over Andy about those powder puff loads he would shoot.

I met him back in 02 when some group was shooting USPSA matches outside Woodbury.
