How do Republicans look at polls?

I was looking at this story (http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2013/07/22/197361/poll-obamas-job-approval-plunges.html#.Ue6FR4y9KSO) and took note of how it points out that even though Obama's and Congressional Dem approval numbers are awful, the GOP numbers are even worse. Do the they realize that the reason they poll so badly is because conservatives disapprove of their "Loyal Opposition" mindset?

Apparently not since so many prominent Republicans keep talking compromise and "being more inclusive".

Will they ever realize that democrats and liberals will never approve of them?

Polls make you think one way when reality says otherwise. I don't put that much into them, but it isn't because

of the McCains and Grahams. It's because the poll is setup to do something most appear to be unaware of. It

is setup, usually, to give a certain perception. Most are not honest and intend to confirm or deny the pollster's

employer's needs. In the case of national polls, using a thousand people on a telephone survey and calling it

a plus or minus three percent poll is a joke. If polls were so accurate, why isn't Romney the president?

Take a poll however you wish. If you live by the poll, you will also die by it. It is only a tool that can be easily

manipulated. They can also tend to send someone doing the opposite.

many polls are biased.   Well, most of them are, actually.   The questions are worded in a way that is known to produce the desired results.

Take the bill of rights man on the street thing:  asked casually, and worded with bias, almost ALL of the people asked were ALL FOR doing away with them.   Not a ONE of them would probably have agreed to this if the wording had been neutral and verbose (had they asked "are you willing to do away with the bill of rights such as your right to free speech" the answer would have been NO.  Instead they said (falsely) that obama is wanting to do away with outdated provisions in the constitution to mislead the idiots).

Its really easy to do things like this.   They make one option sound, just by the wording of the question, like there is a "right" answer.   In some cases, the folks polled are the bias, such as a poll on CNN will be left leaning because CNN is left leaning.

If you *understand* basic head games and the english language, go read the poll questions.  LOOK at it for the misleading, biased words that steer you toward one or the other answer.    After a while, this becomes obvious.

A few polls are more honest.  But most of the ones used day to day by the media are rigged.

Most of the polls said Romney wouldn't be president. We just went with the ones we liked. :)

Republican politicians are just plain stupid.

Don't know if they are necessarily stupid, heck someone voted them in so what does that tell you about the voter, but they all seem to eat from the same trough.  Its all about getting in power, staying in power and growing that power, which means kissing the butts of the RNC or DNC and following party desires.  Sure the party lets them off the leash every now and then to give the appearance of being an individual and to save face with their district but that's it.   If anything gets done that actually benefits the voters well that's just a nice addition.

Stupidity is endemic to politicians today, and even to the people that vote for these stupid politicians, whether they are Republicans or Dumacrats. Whose fault is it that politicians are no longer held to accountability? People that vote in the democratic process need to be vigilant as well as the free press, but stupidity prevents people from demanding accountability. We are just living in an era of stupidity that has taken hold of our society, and causing destruction to ourselves as well as our institutions. How can we overcome this stupidity?I don't have the answer, and we know the politicians don't have the answer.

I see no reason to repeat yourself like that.

Republican politicians are just plain stupid.

...so what does that tell you about the voter....

Agree 100%.

Yes, we keep voting them in so it's our own fault. I voted for Corker, but that will not happen again.

Between Corker and Ford I figured Corker was the Lester Weevils.

Obviously, you didn't get it.

Yours was a response that could mean many things. It's often difficult to know just exactly what someone means through a 2x3 screen. Was it meant as joke? Was it meant as an insult? Who knows? (of course you do, but I'm not in your head)

Maybe I got it, maybe I didn't.

Get it?

I'm pretty sure I got it. I just thought it would be funny to repeat it again.

After all I did vote for a Republican Politician.

Oops I did it again.

It's like a double negative.

How do Republican politicians look at poll data?  Well, immediately after swearing in the RNC issues each one their own Anal-Optilitus magnifier glass and a flashlight..
