I can't imagine someone not coming to Chattanooga. of course I do love to bass and crappie fish, so with Lake Chickamauga being #6 bass lake in the nation right now and crappie in the 2 to 3 lb range plentiful, I'm sure you can understand my thinking?

That's another reason why I wished I still lived in Chatty, or near there, anyway. I heard the Florida bass stockings have taken hold well and a near 14 lber was caught this year there. I'd kick a Mountain gorilla in the nads for a 14 lb bass. Can't seem to get anything bigger than 8 lbs in the boat, though I've had several bigger on the line. They just keep eluding me. BTW...Kaliman, make sure to wash all the Commiefornica contamination off your ride before you get into Arkansas. Don't wanna contaminate this hollowed ground.

Good luck picking a place, id stay at a few places for a few days & ck out each area really well, drive around have lunch at some local places & talk to folks, congrats for getting off the left coast & I'm sure you will find a spot here to suit you. Norris is a small spot with a outdoor gun range that is easy to get to for very little $, add in trout fishing on the clinch or fishing on Norris lake & several wma close by & its hard to beat.30 min or so to get to the oakridge gun club which has a 1000y range along with any other type that you might want to try, I hope your travels will be safe & fun ,mike

Relocated from Santa Cruz, CA to Middle TN about 12 years ago. Started out west of Nashville in the Bellevue area and now in Spring Hill. Absolutely LOVE IT here! Best decision the wife and I ever made. Good luck to you where ever you end up.

I've been in Tellico Village (Loudon County) for 9 years and in Knoxville for 38 years prior. I also travel heavily and can make the run to Nashville airport in less than 2.5 hrs drive time with an hour time zone change playing to my benefit. The property costs and tax structure make the Nashville drive easy to justify. For business trips, I use Knoxville and Allegiant provides cheaper than Southwest non-stop access to Orlando, St Pete (Tampa), Ft Myers and Ft Lauderdale (they do not fly to all cities every day, but it seems to work out). Oak Ridge Sportsman Assn is a great facility and there are a half-dozen other shooting clubs in the area. Tellico Village is 45 minutes drive from Knoxville, Oak Ridge, and Athens has 3 golf courses, lakefront (navigatable to anywhere in the world if you have the time and fuel dollars) and is near the foothills of the Smoky Mtns. Neighbors are from all over the country. Nice folks. Lots of gunowners.
