Remington vs Winchester

Recommended Posts

Just ordered a Kahr PM9 and went to Wal Mart to pick up some break-in ammo. I usually shoot Remington UMC FMJ but all they had was Winchester. When I got home I compared the two and the Winchester is a little longer than the Remington. Will this be a problem in the Kahr?

Thanks

No. Bullet seating depth is going to vary often manufacturer to manufacturer. It depends on the weight of bullet, powder used, etc.

Ammunition companies try their best to develope a load that works in all firearms well.

I wouldnt worry unless its the same weight and its just REALLY off. Be more worried if a bullet is pushed excessively far into a case. Have fun and be safe!

I reload 9mm and I've measured factory ammo to compare to mine. All the factory ammo that I've measured (9mm, .45acp, .38spl, .357mag) are all shorter by a few thousands than the maximum length for the particular cartridge. You should be fine.

I measured the difference and it is about 1/16". Guess that is not enough to worry about. Thanks

I've shot at least 300 rounds of the Winchester White Box (115 gr FMJ) through my Kahr PM9. Never a prob. Never a misfire or failure to feed.
