Speaking of Cabelas (Vet with illegal explosives)

This Vet had black powder he bought from Cabela's, not the problem, had a live grenade fuse, illegal but still doesnt appear to be the problem......seems the problem came when he spoke with a neighbor and offered to blow something up if he needed something blown up. Neighbor turned him in, got raided. Components to manufacture an IED.

 

Found guilty, you know what he's facing. If not it's in the story, serious.

 

One thing that gets me about stories like this, it's like they make up the ingredients for the story. Yes, he's a vet....67 years old, whens the last time he wore a uniform, so whats being a vet got to do with it and it's not against the law to buy black powder from Cabela's or anywhere else, so why throw Cabela's name in it? Story could have been written without the "Vet" angle and the "Cabela's" angle and would have still been the same story.

The one thing I would have to ask though,yes, drilling and plugging grenades to make them inert sounds reasonable to sell them for surplus.....but.....what is a civilian doing with live grenades in the first place?

They dragged Cabela's into the story for the same reason they refer to Trayvon Martin as being an "unarmed child" (as if a slab of sidewalk isn't a weapon).

 

It fits the Liberal narrative.

Yep, just read that on the appeal. Smart enough or not, having been through a divorce (Or two) myself, I can (with authority) say that "You are only friends with your ex wife until you piss her off again". Ex wives dont need to know ex husband personal business especially when you are remarried. Well, yea, I guess I have to agree with Dave....DUMBAZZ

Maybe to push that Crazy Nam Vet stereotype. Dad did 13 months in Nam and people look at him like he could flip out at any time. He gets a good laugh from those idiots.

I thought you could make your own explosives for personal use, such as stump removal and such. I never really looked into it, but once you make your explosive you would need an initiator, which would complete the device yet make it an "IED", right?

From my understanding you can make your own explosives for personal use. But if you put it in a container that will form sharpnel then its now considered a destructive device. If you put tannerite in a steel pipe and sholt it then it was a destructive device instead of a legal explosive.
