is this not a hate crime? censored over religion

Recommended Posts

Huh? They're private organizations and they can restrict whatever they want.

If it was an evil plot by Facebook then why am I bombarded with links to it on my Facebook page right now? Sounds to me like one of two things are happening, or a combination of the two. Possible that some group of aholes reported links as spam or abusive to Facebook and they took immediate action before looking into it. Facebook is notorious for that. So once it was brought to their attention that it wasn't spam or abusive they lifted the ban. Either that or Kirk Cameron is trying to drum up publicity to sell tickets.... nothing does that like appealing to a person's emotions by creating an enemy that doesn't exist.

No. When you own the venue you can ban or censor anything you like. It’s done all the time. To suggest that Facebook or companies like Google have to allow something would be a crime.

If this ends up being the case,,, Well he's no better than any other liberal that plays the victim to get what they want.

This is the third article I have read like this in a month, 2 on religion and one on guns. They said it was not intentional and I believe them. On the gun group that was deleted I saw a news headline (How I knew about it) FACEBOOK BANS FIREARMS" went and looked and all of the major manufacturers were still there (In fact all of the manufacturers, major or not were still there) and there were still 10 gazillion gun groups up.

I havent been on there in a while, but I would be willing to bet there are another 10 gazillion religous and church groups and pages still there.

Facebook said it was an algorithm issue. I believe them. All you have to do is look what happened to Knight Capital last year. An algorithm glitch cost Knight Capital 1/3rd of their value. (Which was fixed)

Yep, whenever there is a sensational story that immediately makes you angry, go ahead and think about who will benefit from your anger. Then read the story again.

If it was just facebook I would agree, but the website was also listed as a risk site by McAfee.

McAfee did the same thing when I used to go to some .mil sites when I was I'm the army. I doubt there was anything sinister done at the hands of McAfee, other than the murder of his neighbor in Belize. Perhaps the site was reported as an attack site by people who don't like Kirk Cameron. Carol maybe?
