I got this from a friend in Crossville Tennessee. He had been on the waiting list forever and decided to get another gun. When this one came in he decided to get it anyway . He told me about it and I TALKED him out of it. The box even says BLUED on it. I did not even realize it was different from all of the magazines that I have with this featured in it till I got on here and started comparing. I gave him what he had in it which was 350.00 w/ holster. I just wanted to have one to compare to my Kel Tec. I talked to a local gun dealer in Kingston and he has not heard of one like this either. Thanks for any help on this .

Well, if someone here doesn't come up with an answer, I'd certainly contact Ruger if it were mine...such a mystery.

Maybe it's a secret prototype that slipped out of their R&D, and they'll pay you a zillion bucks to get it back!!

I called Ruger and asked them if it could be a special edition and they said no ! Last night I contacted to guy that I got it from and he said that it came that way when he got it. Come to find out it had been customized by the selling dealer.Great job on it, I guess I will carry it now!!!!!!!!
