Just thought I would post this since some may not know about it, have pain they cant get rid of, and I thought it would never work. For the last 4 months I have had severe chest pain, I keep it under wraps but last couple of weeks it has gotten to the point I cannot accomplish anything. Four inches down from my collar bone and just left. I have been to 6 different Hospitals (Two VA's, Rhea County MC and one in Pennsylvania and two civilian Hospitals in Jackson. They keep sending me to different specialists. And Rhea a couple of months ago because the pain got so bad I was darn near crying, and Pa for the same reason. I have had 16 EKG's, every time I go see a doctor, whats the problem, chest pain...they dont even ask for a description...right to get an EKG, even if I have already seen the same doctor. Too many xrays, needles, blood tests to count. Have done two Stress tests and one bone density test. I have seen two Heart Specialists, the last one told me that it wasnt my heart and she requested my records and said she didnt see why they would do so many tests, the first couple of EKG's should have ruled that out as well as the first Stress test, she diagnosed me with Degenerative Spinal Chord diseases, common. That led to the bone density test, which showed (IIRC) just below the yellow line is what she said, should not be causing pain in my chest. Had me start taking calcium, one doctor put me on muscle relaxers, and one doctor "recommended' pain medication but said it may not do any good, considering I dont like taking those kinds of drugs anyway, he said that was up to me, took them for two days they did zero good. On top of the pain my left arm from my shoulder to my elbow goes completely numb, comes and goes. No one, not one Doctor or specialist has figured out the problem. But it is real, I know because sometimes its so bad I cant even get up.

So my brother calls tonight. he knows pain, He has lived with extreme pain for 40 years and there isnt anything on the market he hasnt taken, been prescribed or tried. he just lives with it. We were talking about it and he says "Well since it seems they tried everything I think I know what it is, you have a severely pulled muscle and a lot of times they cant detect that, they have these patches they say works wonder, ought to try them". I tld him BS, voodoo medicine and if they worked I am sure one of these Doctors would have already prescribed it. He said I should try it anyway, at this point Ill pretty much try anything really.

Went to Walgreens, they had about 6 different brands, all with warnings. not to wear longer than 8 hours in a 24 hour period, can cause burning and severe rash, etc. None of them on the diagram showed that you could put one on your chest. One of them said Diabetics shouldnt use it, Im diabetic. Asked the Pharmacist if any of these were safe to put on my chest, of course she couldnt say yes and pen walgreens up to a suit. She said buy it, call doctor in the morning, if he says no dont use it, bring it back.

I bought it and said heck with it, went into the parking lot and slapped one right over what is the central spot. What it feels like is if someone took a rock, jammed it up uinder the skin, and pounded on it. Well, I have now been chest pain free for 4 1/2 hours. First, how in the hell could all of these Doctors and all of these tests, miss something so simple. I thought I was having a heart attack, except Doctor Anderson (Heart Specialist) in Jackson said "If that were a Heart Attack, that would be an awfully long Heart Attack".

I am still not 100% convinced this is working, I am thinking it may be that placebo effect thing and I want it to work so it is working. But im telling you this fricken thing seems to be working. On this one the box says you can wear it around the clock, only have to change it every 8 hours. On top f that all the other ones were 8-22 dollars and these were $4.99 for 5. One "side effect" I am having is that now I feel pain in my shoulder, Im thinking that pain in the shoulder has been there, but the chest pain was so bad I didnt feel it, now the chest pain is gone so now I feel it, but it is NOTHING compared to the pain I have had.

They claim that "Works almost instantly" and "Works where it hurts". And they arent lying, two minutes it was subsiding, 5 minutes it was gone.

Tiger Balm Pain Relief patch. I dont know whats in it that works (Dont know what all these ingredients are), but it works. (I think)

Man I do I know what you're going through, except my deal is with naseua more so than pain... Start going downhill often and think it's time to hit up the er, but been there 5 or 6 times and they never catch it. Wear a heart monitor and the cardiologist says it's nothing bad, two surgeries and it still happens etc...

Am about to switch to a different set of doctors/hospital altogether if this round of tests don't tell us anything.

When that happens, have you tried stretching out you arms and upper chest? Sometimes I noticed that the chest and shoulder muscles start tensing up pretty bad and meds never work, stretching does help though. Edited by Sam1

in an orange box. 5 for $4.99 (What I paid at Walgreens)

And I know they work, sitting in the living room, started hurting again, looked, patch had fallen off, put one on 20 minutes ago, pain stopped within 5 minutes.

I sometimes have pain in the ribcage area over my heart. The Doctors could not find out what it was, but said it was not my heart. One doctor said he was pleurisy in my lungs and treated it with antibiotics; but that wasn’t it.

One evening I told my partner to take me back to the station, I needed some pain meds but couldn’t work while taking them, and I was going home. He stopped by his chiropractor’s office and we talked to him. He did an adjustment on my back and neck and had me relax there for 20 minutes. When I got up the pain was gone. He said it was probably a pinched nerve and when that happens you never know where the pain will present.

Maybe a chiropractor could help you?

On a serious note, glad to hear you found relief, maybe that info will help the Drs. figure out the problem.

On a humorous note, lets all get one and stick it on our butts. That should make the current administration go away.

Ever been to Fort McClellan or Bosnia?

What would Bosnia have to do with that? Cause I was over there for a while
