Stripped AR15 lowers - who/what/where?

Seems like I read a thread on deals on stripped lowers here a while back. I recall Spikes and Double Star being discussed, I think the Double Star was selling somewhere around $110 OTD. Now I can't seem to find the thread.

I've not owned an EBR to this point, and was thinking about putting back a lower or two for the future. Can anyone point me towards a decent deal? I'm a SE TN type, but will be in Nashville at the end of the month for a few days, so shops there would work too.

TIA

Or you could check out this amazing deal and support those who support TGO and the Tennessee economy! Rather than spend money out of state and with someone who doesn't support the fourm.

I'm just saying.........

Buds gun shop has doublestar lowers.

Looks like they still have some in stock (stripped lowers), for $99 shipped.

JWP just posted some Spike's tactical lowers still for sale, though... if you want to support a TGO vendor: LINK

Thanks for the link, pretty decent deal!

I take it Coal Creek doesn't carry the Doublestar lowers?

Beat me to it. :P

Not at the moment. We do have DPMS and Spike's in stock though.

FWIW... I actually prefer Spike's over Doublestar... but that's just personal preference. All lower receivers (well, 98% of them) are all the same except for the company logo engraved on the side. You can't go wrong with Spike's... and they're quite popular in the AR scene.

Plus the color-fill / HK-style pictogram option is pretty cool, if you opt for it.

I bought a couple of the CMG Smith and Wesson lowers last week at CSS. They were $110.00 each

One thing to keep in mind before the next ban (Hopefully it will never happen), assuming there IS a grandfather clause in this one the lowers in question will have to be assembled into a rifle with all the appropriate evil features prior to the ban going into effect otherwise it will be considered building an illegal weapon after the ban. My advice would be to at least put in all the lower parts and assemble them onto a upper (even if you have to borrow one) and take pictures of the guns including the serial numbers and then mail the pictures and the receipts to yourself but don't open them and keep them in a safe place. Then there will be no question.

Of course making sure we don't have another stupid ban in the first place would be alot better.:D
