Some of the crazy speeches being given in wake of the Zimmerman trial, I heard one person shouting about wanting to get the stand your ground rules over turned.

And they have plenty of sheep that will follow them.

You know that is another thing. After the verdict I have seen people use Murder in talking about Zimmerman.  They are on very thin ice when it comes to libel and slander.

I believe I saw Jesse Jackson say something along the ground he got away with murder.

About 18 seconds in.

After the not guilty verdict, to me this should fit either libel or slander.

Also about 1:20 he talks about a jury of peers and Travon didn't have a jury of peers.

The jury of peers is really for the defendent. *you have a right to a trial by a jury of your peers.   Not the prosecution take you to court with a jury of their peers.

Dunno about that, you could be right. I recall lots of people complaining in public that OJ got away with murder, but did OJ sue anybody for libel or slander?

Discovery as well as odds of winning? There are also exceptions for "public personalities" and nowadays maybe Z qualifies? Long ago I was aggrieved that an acquaintance was getting lied about, and I asked a drunk lawyer friend about it. He was a drunk but he was also a great lawyer. Among other things he said, "Now the first thing to consider-- I don't know your friend or his situation. Maybe you don't know your friend as well as you think. But libel has to be false or it ain't libel." The money from a lawsuit might not be worth the discovery questions from the lawsuit defense team, under oath, on the record forever after?

So that is enough of an ignoramus discussing law that he doesn't have the slightest clue about.

The NAACP is on record wanting to repeal stand your ground law everywhere. I don't understand it, because you would think colored people would want to stand their ground too, rather than having a duty to retreat. Oh, wait... :)

You make a good point, anyone should be against losing any rights.  As much as many of them fought for their rights, 1 or 2 generations later some are ready to line up and give them up again.

But SYG and Castle Doctrines are just reasons to murder BLACK folks without being held accountable for it.

Fixed it for you.

Race baiter home base.

It's striking that most everyone acknowledges this organization as something legitimate, but where

is the National Association for the Advancement for All People?  It's found in the US Constitution,

that document that supposedly keeps government from getting in the way of opportunities that

support and promote freedom, success and quiet enjoyment, without ever mentioning a welfare

system.

Victimization kills liberty when the government takes from one to give part of what they take to another.

The NAACP wants all of its membership to proclaim victimization without lifting a single person out

from poverty without doing it off of someone else's back.

They, and their brother and sister organizations have kept school vouchers from going forward,

which happened to be successful. They have pushed back against any positive changes in their

supposed communities and kept their own membership(?) from benefitting from opportunity by

proclaiming victimization, and keeping it in the media so much that people assume it to be true.

The dues to that union are much higher than they realize. As with all unions, the NAACP is but a

parasite and will completely engorge the host.

Pay attention to their politics, some, and see what their goals really are. See who they align

themselves with, not just democrats, but with communists around the world, just like any union.

As for libel and slander I asked a lawyer friend about this not too long ago about the "Dangerous" gun owner app. Basically what they told me is: First you have to prove that your name or business name holds a monetary value. Second you have to prove that the libel or slander caused a loss in that value. Lastly you have to prove that the person stated/published that information as fact and not opinion.
Basically even when you have an actual case for it, it is difficult to win.
