Thanks for the thread, I was just about to ask the same thing. I have read that manufacturers will suggest this before sending in for FTF or misfeeds. Thanks again!

GLOCK mags get cleaned once a year by taking apart, using a plastic tooth brush and CLP.....

Metal mags get cleaned once or twice a year depending on how many times they have been used, cleaned the same as above.

No reason not to. It's just un-necessary...

Remember also, that I don't clean my regular shooting pistols until they start to jam (which for the XDs has always been well into the second case, or sometimes the third). So the mags generally have a combined gunk buildup of a couple thousand rounds, plus dirt from dropping them... which is usually alot. I clean the carry guns more... usually moreso on an interval basis (every month or two), than a round-count or their performance.
