ok so i love my .22LR's but i have somehow ended up acquiring both a H&K MP5 .22 and a Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22, and i really dont see a reason to hold onto both of them since they both fill the same niche for me as a semi auto tactical trainer type rifle .. i dont have alot of trigger time on either one but from what i can understand the MP5 actually out shoots the M&P .... but the M&P has the advantage of being on the AR platform and being a good trainer for my M&P 15 Sport in .223, would like to trade one off for maybe a nice semi auto 9mm or a ruger .357 but im torn on which to keep and which to trade off ... any input from you guys with experience with one or both of these guns would be greatly appreciated

I guess it depends on your meaning of "tactical". A .22 is a deadly weapon in the eyes of a squirrel. :D Great huniting

tool and can be deadly a lot of other places.

Now, if you want to talk about tactical mousetraps, and know where one can find them, I'm in the market for a few. My

wife found a mouse in the kitchen, last night. You know what that means. :D

Unless you have an MP5 I'd keep the MP 15-22 since you have a regular AR.  You get all the training value without the expense of the rounds.  But then again, I'm biased.  I got rid of my MP5 .22 for my 15-22.

I had a similar situation. Although I have yet to use it, I'm on my third M&P (FDE Magpul) I plan to keep both because they are so different and cool. Buy the 357 or 9mm, because whichever .22 you sell you're going to miss it and go purchase another one anyways. Ask me how I know. Also, I agree that the HK out shoots the M&P.
